WAIT, WHAT MONTH IS IT? We promise we're not being cheeky; we're simply starting to lose track. All the more reason to scroll to the Volunteer Needs section to see if you can help us out. Together, we'll make it! P.S. -- It is still March for a few more days... |
SHAMROCK SHUFFLE FUN RUN RECAP The 2025 Shamrock Shuffle Fun Run, sponsored by Ken Riel, was a great success! We raised a record amount of $79,800, and netted $54,800 (after paying related expenses for the booster program, t-shirts, incentives, and supplies). Thank you parents, families, friends, teachers, and staff for all of your amazing support! A special thanks to Emily Mills and the rest of the volunteer team for making the day go smoothly, to Andrea Wise for coordinating the fundraiser, to David Hale for organizing the prizes, and to Ms. Alar, our wonderful emcee! Our scholars will benefit from the new playground shades and tchoukball rebounders to be purchased from this fundraiser. The SGE family is amazing, and we are grateful! Check out our Shuffle collage here, thanks to Shamrock parent and photographer Travis Dove (to download any pictures, visit the full gallery; password: Luckyrunners). Since we met our goals, during the upcoming April Dragon Discussion, Mr. Gee will indeed get slimed! Be sure to check the PTA Instagram for a video. Also, our Shamrock Shuffle incentive winners this year were: - Most Spirited Teacher/Staff (winners of $100 Amazon gift cards): Ms. Morace and Mr. Vereen
- Grade with Highest Registrations (winner of breakfast party + teachers get Jimmy John's lunch): Kindergarten
- Class with Highest Donations (winners of Chick-fil-A lunch): Tie between Ms. Morace and Mr. Vereen
- Scholar with Highest Donations (winner of 3D printer): David D. in kindergarten
- Random drawing for Registering (winner of Carowinds gift card): To be announced at the April Dragon Discussion!
THANK YOU again to everyone who made this event possible! |

SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR 2025-26 SGE offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the upcoming school year. EduKits include the supplies approved by our school. Your student's order will be in their classroom on the first day of school; no hassle! Visit this EduKit link and order by June 23rd. Families can also reference the EduKit lists to purchase supplies on their own. |
RISING K BEGINNER'S NIGHT / DAY On Thursday, May 1st, 5:00-6:00pm, and Friday, May 2nd, 9:25-10:05am, rising kindergarten families are invited to Shamrock Gardens to learn more about our amazing school! Volunteers are needed to help escort new scholars to/from activity rooms and help with group activities. This is a special time for children who will become SGE scholars next year, so we appreciate current parents being part of it. Sign up to help here!
STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK On behalf of the PTA Hospitality Committee -- Get ready to experience Camp Shamrock like never before! Staff Appreciation Week is just around the corner, May 5th to 9th, and we're gearing up to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff in the most camp-tastic way possible! This year, we need your help to ensure our amazing team can truly relax and enjoy the week while we show them just how much they mean to us! Here are some ways you can help support Staff Appreciation Week: - Teacher Raffle Donations - Just like the best camp prizes, we're gathering fun goodies for a raffle. We're looking for donations from local vendors or businesses -- anything from gift cards to special treats. If you're part of a local business and would like to contribute something, please reach out to Bree Jonmaire. These items will make our raffle extra special!
- Help Decorate Camp Shamrock - Every great camp needs to look the part! We're asking for volunteers to help decorate the school in true camp style -- think rustic signs, campfire vibes, campers, and plenty of fun! If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and create a camp wonderland, please sign up to help!
- Car Line and Lunch Coverage - One of the best and easiest ways you can help is by covering a car line or lunch shift so that our teachers and staff can enjoy a relaxing catered breakfast and lunch. Taking a shift will give them the chance to recharge and savor the wonderful meals we've planned for them. Sign up now!
- Notes and Awards from Scholars - Our scholars are the heart of the school, and we want them to be part of the fun, too! We'd love to gather notes and awards from our scholars to present to each teacher and staff member. Be on the lookout for information in Thursday Folders and via ParentSquare on Thursday, May 1st.
Your support will help us make this Staff Appreciation Week unforgettable, and it’s a great opportunity to show our staff just how much we value them! Thank you for being such an important part of our school community and for helping us honor our dedicated team!
SGE ROAD MURAL PAINTING DAY We need 10-15 volunteers to join Mr. Steele and the PTA on Sunday, May 18th, 10:00am-4:00pm, to help refresh the road mural at the entrance of our school. We'll bring new life to the bright colors and art that welcome our scholars and school community each day. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to help! Supplies will be provided. Email Mr. Steele if you can help for part or all of the time.
PTA BOARD & COMMITTEES FOR 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR Don't stop questioning whether you should get involved—just take the leap! The more board and committee members we have, the smoother the year will go! The PTA needs you! Joining the PTA is a great way to meet new people and there is a role for everyone! The needs are ranked on this form, which you can fill out by April 15th if something piques your interest. If you are unsure where to start or need more information on how much the time commitment truly is, reach out to Wes Turner (336-830-2105) or Chelsea Lawrence to see where you can make an impact. We hope you consider giving your time and joining us! It takes a village of volunteer support to run all of the PTA events and activities that keep our Shamrock community thriving.
MORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and support SGE. Visit our website to learn more about Helping Hands, Lucky's Library, Heart Math Tutoring, Lucky Dads, and more! Remember to register at cmsvolunteers.com so you're set for the school year. |

(in case you missed it) - Are you confused about all the acronyms? LI/TD, PTA, CoGAT, etc.? You're not the only one! The SGE PTA website includes a glossary that will help demystify these terms and many others for you. (No cap...)
After-school activities: A number of excellent organizations are partnering with SGE to provide voluntary after-school programs for our scholars. See more information here! We've included a chart of potential available activities, the days of the week they are held, and which grades are eligible to participate. Visitor check-in: All visitors on campus (including basketball game attendees, after-school activity participants/volunteers, landscape workers, etc.) must sign in through the visitor check-in system, LobbyGuard, to be accounted for. This is a CMS security requirement. Visitors can save time by becoming a CMS volunteer in advance. Driver's licenses are required for adults. Lucky Charm Staff Spotlights: We have so many wonderful staff members at Shamrock! Each month, Principal Potter recognizes a few that go above and beyond their normal duties. Learn more about these amazing staff members here. The SGE uniform closet accepts donations anytime of any uniform sizes, and is accessible to staff as they support our SGE scholars and community every day. Think: spills, accidents, etc.! There are opportunities to shop the uniform closet at events throughout the year. Our amazing SGE guidance counselors and support staff can help with specific uniform needs. Shamrock Spark Camp will be June 16-20 (except that Thursday, June 19), 8:00am-3:00pm at Shamrock! The cost for the week is $250, and includes breakfast and lunch daily. Registration is open until April 18th, and there are 150 spots available (and 20 scholarships!). Spark Camp is open to all rising K-5th grade scholars. Contact Ms. Miller with any questions! - Support SGE every day! Buy spirit wear, rent the rock, and earn while you shop.

| Congratulations, Shamrock ballers! Three cheers for the Shamrock basketball and cheerleading teams this year! The team finished with a 5-3 record and finished in the final four. The team learned a lot about the game of basketball, but also about how to win and lose with class. A special shout out goes to parents and staff who showed up and cheered at every game, encouraging the team the whole way through! Last but certainly not least, a huge thanks goes to all the coaches who devoted their time to the season: Coach Barrett, Mr. Gee, Officer Moore, Ms. Bellamy, and Ms. Redfern! |
